Blue moon

On a beautifully clear night, last night, I tried for some photos of the moon. Hand-held, of course they were always going to be a failure.

But when I downloaded them, there is a blue orb apparently moving around the moon.

Anybody have any idea what it is? Somebody suggested it was caused by our double-glazing – but I was outside.  Any explanations, please?

  1. Looks like lens flare or some other optical abberation, is the front of the lens clean or is it perhaps one of those zooms with a great number of elements just waiting to surprise you with an unwanted reflection?
