Taking a few days away

I won’t be blogging this week, as  we have just lost somebody very, very special and I need a little time to myself.

Please therefore excuse me if I don’t respond to comments or flash fiction submissions immediately. Please keep them coming in though – there has been a recent flurry of very clever 50-worders and I know you are enjoying writing them.

Keep well, keep warm, keep happy, and see you again soon.

  1. Dear Susie
Sorry for your sad loss, this poem sent to me by a friend, bought a little comfort in similar cicumstances…All my very best to you. Glynis.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.

I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.

I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.

I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.

I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I do not die.

    Mary E Frye?
