Despite a poor season generally in the potager due to the vagaries of the weather, rhubarb will be featuring on the dessert menu for the foreseeable future. 😀

My rhubarb has done really well this year too, except the stems are rather green, I’m not sure why, but it still makes a good crumble, I haven’t tried the rhubarb ice cream or rhubarb cake recipes. You must have had courgettes, everyone has courgettes. My compost bin is full of those I missed and turned into 2 foot marrows overnight…and then there are the chillies, my 10 plants produced hundreds of them. I have 8 litres of chilli sauce sitting on the worktop and burning fingers from all the deseeding..

    • Cathy, I’ve always found that French rhubarb isn’t as pink as British rhubarb, although it seems to taste the same. The rhubarb crumble recipes are really yummy, especially the ice-cream – a St Delia recipe.

      Only grew the round courgettes. Even they didn’t do much – just two football size creatures I transformed into lemon marmalade. Have never grown chillies as we don’t many. I’ve still got some in a bottle in the fridge that’s been there about ten years. 😀
