Dear Susie
Wasn’t sure how to contact you other than leaving a blog comment.
I have just finished ‘Best Foot Forward’ and have ‘2 steps back’ and ‘a perfect circle’ on order.
After finishing BFF I just wondered, when you got home, did you get your eye fixed? What was wrong with it and did you have to have an op?
Also, did Jennifer stay on for a bit once you got back or did she go straight home and how is she?
One last thing, are there any photos of you anywhere on the net, would love to see what you look like :0)
Hope you don’t mind me being nosey but I am :0)
All the best
Justine

Hello Justine
Thanks so much for contacting me, and I hope you enjoy the books. It’s always flattering when readers take the trouble to write.
Re. the eye, it was the result of a very old injury when I got fragments of a rusty nail embedded in it. No idea why it decided to flare up where and when it did, I suppose it was Fate throwing yet another spanner into the works.
When I returned home I saw an eye specialist, who prescribed a Vitamin A eye gel to put in the eye. It’s a bit like Vaseline, and he said it would mend the eye. Better than an op. which might not be successful. I’m very pleased to say that it did the trick and I haven’t had any more problems.
Jennifer only stayed for three days, as she was understandably anxious to get back to her family. She is such a fantastic lady, and we keep in touch regularly. Unfortunately she has a lot of health problems, but is always cheerful and positive. She was arranging to come back for a “10th anniversary of the event” visit last year, when she had to have an operation on her ankle. A couple of months ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had an operation about a fortnight ago. The prognosis is good, she is having a revolutionary new form of treatment, and as soon as she is fit enough, we are expecting her over here.
Photos on the net? I don’t think so, but the frog at the top is a pretty good likeness!
I don’t at all mind you being nosey. It’s nice to know that Best Foot Forward inspired your curiosity.
Do let me know what you think of the other two.
Very best
Susie

I will, thanks for getting back to me and sorry to hear about Jennifer’s illness but good to know she’s getting really good care. She sounds like an amazing woman who makes the most of life!
I have an internet friend who lives in your region so I’ve told him he must read your book! :0)
