And he’s only 23

Alex Wotherspoon had a mantra that he chanted frequently to justify his various shortcomings: “I’m only 24.”

Well, yesterday, demonstrating magical driving skill in miserable, dangerous, almost impossible conditions, Lewis Hamilton steered his machine calmly around 60 laps of Silverstone to finish more than a minute ahead of his nearest challenger – and that after a week of criticism and derision by the press that would have demoralised and shaken the confidence of a lesser man.

In his second season in Formula One he has so far pocketed both Monaco and his home Grand Prix. And he’s only 23.

  1. It were reeeeet grand. Given the awful conditions though, didn’t he make it a tad too easy? I bet Max is fuming! :)

  2. Yes, I couldn’t understand why everybody was slithering and sliding around. Lewis certainly gave his detractors a most elegant and accomplished 2-finger salute, did he not?

Max? Who he? Oh, old boy with strange habits. Bit of a twit to pay to be beaten bloody, because there must be plenty of volunteers who’d do it for nothing (sticks hand up). Very odd how the defence witness is unable to appear. Who’d have thought that? ;-)

Spare a thought for Mrs M. How must it feel to know that your OH has been cheating on you for nearly 50 years? Poor woman.
