The New York restaurant which was offering the £12,500 chocolate pudding on its menu last week has been closed down by the health department, not from fear that the gold and diamonds in the pudding might cause people to choke to death, but because of some of the even more exotic ingredients lurking in the kitchen.
A live mouse, flies and dozens of live cockroaches were found during a health inspection – the second which the restaurant failed in the course of a month. Oh, and there was the stagnant water in the basement and mouse droppings scattered around the restaurant.
Can’t help wondering if the owners of the place are having a little difficulty prioritising their priorities, and whether there was more in the dessert than the customers realised.
Sick bag again, please.

As my American friends would say ‘Eeeeewwww’.
By the way, Susie. Nice choice of song this week. Goes right to my heart. I’ve got lots of versions, one of my favourites is Ute Lemper and another is Placido Domingo – that man makes me go weak at the knees. (Although we did once see him at Gatwick airport – not singing- he’s a lot shorter than you would think!)

Glad you like the songs, Sue. I felt a bit guilty taking “La Vie en Rose”!
It seems quite usual for our heroes to be much smaller in real life than on screen; I always feel just a teeny bit swindled.
If PD isn’t very tall, where does that leave the other chappie, Jose Carreras? He must be REALLY tiny.
